I Am Number Four is based on the book written by Pittacus Lore, it is a science fiction/ horror movie. There are five main characters not including all the Mogadorians who are the antagonists in the movie. The main character is John Smith who is played by Alex Pettyfer. He is “number four” and moves to the city of Paradise, Ohio to run from the Mogadorians. When number three is killed, he leaves with his master Henri played by Timothy Olyphant .When he arrives he meets Sarah (who is played by Dianna Agron,) who is his love interest in the movie. There is also Sam, a boy who John meets when he sticks up for him when the football players pick on him. Finally there is Number 6 played by Teresa Palmer.

The movie starts out very suspenseful with the Mogadorians finding number three and  chasing him down in Kenya, killing him. John (number 4) is at a beach party in the water with a girl. John feels every time one of his kind die as he gets a special mark on his leg and it starts to glow, he then realizes he has to leave another home once again. He then arrives with Henri. He goes to a new school where he meets Sarah. He is instantly attracted to her. He keeps trying to find a way to be with her but he is supposed to be keeping a low profile. He walks her home one night and he gets to know her a lot more and she starts to fall for him too. When he takes her to the fall carnival they go into the haunted hay ride and Sarah’s ex-boyfriend (the football quarterback) and the rest of the team attacks them but John attacks them and beats the quarterback. Mark, the quarterback, gets mad and tells a story that John is a terrorist and Sarah gets really mad and confused and stops talking to John. He comes to a party to explain everything but Mark calls his dad the sheriff and he comes to get John to leave and the Mogadorians wind up finding him and Sarah. When the two are about to die number six comes in to save the day but that doesn’t stop the Mogadorians and they fight for their life.

 This movie’s acting was very good. The actors were really believable, they really had me feeling the same things they were feeling. When John was looking for Sarah after they were attacked by the football team, he was panicked when he couldn’t find her, I could feel the way he was feeling. The costumes/ makeup in the movie were really good too, especially the makeup for the Mogadorians. It had me and all the people I was with creeped out. All the outfits except for the Mogadorians were really modern and it all tied in really well together.

This movie overall was very good. It had the characteristics all good movies should have including suspense, action, drama, and romance. It was an extremely good movie as it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I would recommend this to everyone—it is an amazing movie.
