Pitman’s Got Talent Rally took place on Friday during school. The rally was different than the usual rallies; this one was a talent show. It was modeled after the TV show, America’s Got Talent; the rally had nine acts, two “commercials”, and judges.
After the crowd settled down emcee Karli Matter was joined by Lucas Giron who began the show. It started with Today’s Entertainment: Sam Cotton, Josh Rodrigues, Brandon Barragan, Esther Elia and Austin Mitchell, performing Apologize, by One Republic. After much celebration they were followed by Tim Bishop who played The Duck Song, a song he composed himself. Daniel Fox then sang Better Together, by Jack Johnson. Something Awesome, consisting of Michael Donavan, Dustin and Trevor Speckman, preformed 31 Melody a Remix, a song they wrote themselves. The last performance before the “commercial break” was by Chereen Givargis singing and playing her guitar to Beautiful.
The boys’ and girls’ basketball teams were introduced along with wrestling teams with an original song and a lot of school spirit.
After the break, Angeleigha Arnold and Juan Villapauda preformed Lucky by Jason Mraz. Then the Unique Freaks took the stage, (Deandre Guilford, Ezequid Lepe, Troy Stine, and Osvaldo Lopez) and performed an original dance. Brooklyn Longden then sang Moment for Life by Nicki Minaj. It took a lot of effort to get the crowd quiet after that performance but when they were quiet Adam Lloyd and Kenny Yates took the floor and performed their own version of Black and Yellow (Green and Silver) which had the entire gym screaming.
When it was finished the winners were announced…The winners were Something Awesome. They received t-shirts along with a lot of applause and confetti. And with that the rally had come end. This rally was on of the best because it showcased all of the different talents Pitman High School has.
