On Friday, April 1st, the quad was filled with over two-hundred plastic eggs which were all filled with candy and prizes. Why? Because Friday’s lunch time activity consisted of an egg hunt and egg toss to get students into the spring time spirit.
The egg hunt came first. Each person had a partner and they tied their ankles together with caution tape and had two minutes to collect as many eggs as possible. The teams struggled to keep their ankles together, but after two minutes Steven Kha and A.J. Derr were crowned the winners. They both won a chicken dinner, dubbing them each “winner-winner chicken-dinner.”
Once the rest of the contestants gathered candy and left, the remaining students each took a raw egg and lined up in the grass and discussed their strategies. The game was very repetitive: toss, take a step back, toss, and take a step back, with the occasional egg cracking on someone’s shirt which made the game much more entertaining. After two amazing tosses from the amphitheater to the light pole there still was no winner. The winner was then decided by a simple game of rock paper scissors which ended in Ryan Keaton and Alex Ibarra’s favor. They both received a chocolate bunny and bragging rights. Friday’s lunch time activity was fun and exciting and was just what Pitman needed to get into the spring sprit.
