The Future Business Leaders of America, more commonly known as FBLA around campus, may sound like a major bore, but in all reality, it is one of the best clubs on Pitman’s campus. Yes, FBLA could quite possibly be the club your parents are pushing for you to join because of the scholarship possibilities, community service opportunities, and the fact that it looks amazing college applications. However, FBLA is more than all that because FBLA has something for every student on the Pitman campus. As cliché and made-up as that may sound, it is true. Every year, FBLA sends students to competitions that test students’ business skills and more. Some of the events include Accounting, Business Communications, Business Math, Entrepreneurship, Job Interview, Marketing, Personal Finance, Public Speaking, Technology Concepts and more! Our first competition is just within the Central Section, and the best from this competition move on to the State Competition. To prepare for these competitions, we have study session where all of the participants get together for about three hours at night, order pizza, hang out, and study for their events. The members of FBLA grow extremely close throughout the year and establish close bonds with each other that will last a lifetime. Don’t believe me? I guess you will just have to come and try FBLA out yourself to see the big picture.
