20th century Fox and Marvel Entertainment recently announced its plans for the upcoming Deadpool film, set to be released on February 12, 2016. The cast feature Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson, also known as, Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Copy-Cat. Gina Carano as Angel Dust. T.J. Miller as Weasel, and Brianna Hidebran as Negasonic Teenage War head. The film is set to be directed by Tim Miller and will be produced by Lauren Shuler.
Schmoes Know (movie reviewer) says that he heard from Tim Miller, that they’ve found a way to make the movie a PG-13 rather than the R that fans had hoped for. “I heard from the director that they finally figured out the script, and it was right before this was announced, that they figured out, and you guys are all going to hate this, that they figured out how to make it PG-13”
Although this is his first feature film this is his second appearance on the big screen. He made his debut appearance in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine, However, many fans were upset with his portrayal in the film. There was also an action comedic game made after Deadpool for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
The plot of the movie is going to be based upon Marvel Comics’ most well-known anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to an experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Deadpool’s back-story has not been presented clearly, and he is unable to remember his personal history due to his mental condition. There have been other suspicious stories about him. Loki (Thor’s brother) claimed to be his father. Deadpool has declared to be Canadian, even though the original story had him joining the Weapon X program after being kicked out of the United States Army Special Forces.
Deadpool’s main power is an accelerated his healing factor. The Weapon X program, Experimented on him, and gave him the power to regenerate any destroyed tissue at a superhuman rate as well as making him immune to all known diseases. Deadpool’s brain cells also recovered quickly, with dying brain cells being reproduced at a super accelerated rate. This allows Deadpool to recover from any head wounds, and it makes him nearly invincible to psychic and telepathic powers, as the altered or damaged brain cells quickly regenerate to their original state.
Apart from his physical advantages, Deadpool is an assassin and mercenary, specialized in multiple forms of martial arts, and an expert swordsman and marksman. It is thought that while his psychosis and dissociative identity disorder are a handicap, this makes him an extremely unpredictable opponent.
After waiting for many years, Deadpool fans demand are finally being satisfied with a film adaption of one of the most beloved characters in the comic book world today.
