The holidays are near and it’s time to spread cheer! While many people are staying home many are getting away. Here are the top 5 places to visit during the holidays.

San Francisco is a popular choice for people that live in about a 10-hour radius to there. People who love taking long walks with many people, this is your ideal place. Union Square is always decorated and has an ice skating rink during the holiday season. There are famous stores in Union Square like Designer Shoe Warehouse, Nordstrom, Anthropology, etc. Piers are always a popular place to visit so why not go during the holiday season during the holiday season when it’s decorated.

It may be the season of cold, but the Las Vegas Strip is a must see during the holidays where every hotel decorated to the max it almost seems like they’re competing. Lots of tourists go to just walk around and admire the beauty of it all. There is always concerts or shows that you can go to although tickets do run out fast. It is more popular for adults to visit, but you can always find a couple events suitable for all ages like Meet The Mermaids at the Silverton Casino Hotel watch live mermaids swimming with tropical fish. Ethel M Cactus Garden Holiday Lights with performances from local choir groups and Santa Claus.

Key West is fun for the whole family and there are many different events. One of the most anticipated event on New Years the Red Shoe Drop where the famous drag queen, Sushi sits in a red high heel and drops down during the countdown. Another event that started last year is the parade of paws although 2014 was its first appearance it had a huge a turnout. Pets and their owners come to fundraiser for the Animal Care Fund.

Not to far from America in Quebec City, Canada you will most likely have a white Christmas. The events are very family oriented. There are two Christmas markets: German Christmas market and Old port Christmas market. Don’t forget to visit Christmas Village where you can take a stroll down the street and visit Santa Claus. Since its full of snow, skiing is always a popular choice.

To satisfy the world traveler in you Barcelona, Spain may not seem like a popular place to go for Christmas but, in fact, the whole day is full of events. During the morning, there is Carissa De Nadal where people give out sweets at the market. The streets are filled with children dancing to traditional Hispanic music in traditional outfits. There is also a couple place with Santa to take pictures, but in the Hispanic culture the Three Wise Men are more popular.
