Kids Yoga

Kids Yoga

Yoga is not just limited to teens or adults, the beauty of yoga is that anyone of any age can practice and enjoy the benefits of yoga.

I am currently teaching a kids yoga class at I am Yoga Wellness Studio in Turlock. The ages range anywhere between 5 years old to 10 years old.Through the classes I’ve been teaching, I have noticed a difference in the kids ability to focus, listen, and relax. It is exciting and interesting to witness how yoga is helping them to improve their balance, agility, focus, patience, and much more.

The kids yoga class is a ‘drop in class’ so all parents need to do is stop by, sign a waiver, pay $5, and drop their kids off for an hour of yoga fun!

This June I will be instructing a kids yoga camp. It will be held at I Am Yoga Wellness Studio every Monday of June from 1 PM to 3 PM. Each Monday is themed with a different positive virtue. Every session will be filled with fun crafts, interactive games, and of course a yoga class.

The themes are gratitude, kindness, relaxation, and positivity. Each day will have specific games and crafts designed to teach and to exemplify each virtue. Each craft is reusable and is designed to help the kids remember the specific virtue.

Ages can range anywhere between five years old and 10 years old. (of course exceptions can be made) The price is $80 per child.

Visi Tilak author of the article, The Benefit of Yoga for Kids, wrote on Parents.com ,

“Because children encounter emotional, social, and physical challenges or conflicts, a dedicated and intentional yoga practice that includes breathing techniques, behavioral guidelines, and physical postures can be incredibly valuable for them.”

Yoga is a great non competitive activity that will provide a relaxed, judgment free environment for kids.
