In California, the competition to get into a UC is extremely fierce. A University of California is generally more difficult to get into rather than a state college, and Pitman is proud of the few students who were able to gain acceptance into these schools.

There are many factors which play into deciding on a school, one being finances. A lot of students manage to receive scholarships and grants to these schools, but sometimes it is not enough, so a student may choose to stay closer to home to save money. Another contributing factor is having a friend nearby or just choosing a campus that suits the student best.

Many of these students choose their campus based on their career dreams. Although some students may not have a specific dream school in mind, this surely does not diminish the joy of attending such respected campuses.
