Samantha Trout – Co-Editor-in-Chief (12)

Aside from being an avid Chipotle burrito enthusiast, part-time guitar player, and amateur journalist for The Roaring Times, Samantha Trout had one great fear: that one day, she’d have to write a clever biography about herself and have nothing to say. The time has come.
For this serious lack of individuality, Sam–an eclectic seventeen-year-old who spends her days longboarding, surfing Facebook, and editing this marvelous website–apologizes.

Angel Garcia – General Editor (11)

The date: July 5th 1995. A day after the majestic beauty of fireworks had diminished from the skies of our nation’s day of independence, a phenomenon of epic proportions had occurred inside the walls of Emanuel Hospital in Turlock, California. The prophecy had finally been fulfilled; ancient word of an infant by the name of Jose Angel Garcia would be destined to accomplish great things for the world and humans alike. Yet, instead of entering Harvard Law at the age of 6 and becoming the youngest child to perform open-heart surgery in 2004; Jose chose to reinvent himself. He is now often referred to as Angel Garcia of Keyes, California: a hardworking eleventh grade student at John H. Pitman High School with interests in indie music, tennis, sleeping, and authentic Mexican cuisine. But do not be fooled, these seemingly moderate qualities are just a mere scratch off the complex surface that is Angel Garcia.

Viviana Fuentes – Front Page Editor (11)

Before the world knew me, my mom had already decided that my name was going to be Viviana Fuentes. I was named after her great-great grandmother, Viviana Montejano, who was from a small town in Mexico. I love my name because it is unique and different, just like me. My name means, “full of life” and I must say it lives up to who I am. Since I was little, I have been outgoing and always have a smile on my face. Also, I have been attracted to the world of art. As a little girl, I won many drawing contests and enjoyed dressing up mixing fashion trends. Getting compliments from others for my sense of style is an encouragement to continue exploring my creative side. I am not afraid to take risks and explore my abilities to my fullest potential. My life revolves around art, creativity, and happy things. Listening to music and playing the cello for seven years has been my hobby since fifth grade. I have enjoyed listening to and playing music, but I have also learned to express myself through dancing. You would conclude by what I have shared that my goal in life is to become a great fashion designer or an accomplished artist, but my aspirations are actually in the world of science. My hope and dream is to become a veterinarian, so I can help families who cannot afford medical health for their animals. I will continue living life to the fullest and can’t wait to put a “touch of class” to my chosen profession!

Cindy Teixeira – Front Page Editor (11)

What word would you use to describe her, you may ask? She would simply say, passionate. There are a multiple of things she has a passion for. The top of this imaginary list in her mind contains animals. There is nothing else in the entire world that could interest her more than animals can. She has two lovely handsome cats whom she loves to spend her life with, inspiring her to one day become a veterinarian living on a ranch filled with animals, especially horses. In addition, to her passion for animals, she loves to dance. Dancing since she was four, she dances tap, jazz, and in her later years ballet. Though some may not consider it to be the best sport, dance, in her opinion is. Loving the nice sunny days of summer, she would prefer to spend her time outdoors enjoying every bit of it. Her favorite trip of all time happens to be the most recent summer. From listening to the calm waves of the beach in Rhode Island to the roaring honks in New York, it was the definition of the perfect trip. Along with watching her now all time favorite Broadway show, Wicked, she also watched Lion King and Phantom of the Opera. These are just a few things she is passionate about in life. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention, the name of this girl is Cindy Teixeira.

My name is Quentin Juan Hernandez and I was born on November 6th,1996 at Doctors Hospital. My family and I lived in Modesto, California until I was five years old. In 2002 my family moved to Ceres, and this is where I live currently. When I was three years old I started taking karate lessons, and ended up with a red belt by the time I was seven. During my first year at kindergarten, I became very ill with meningitis. I was hospitalized for two weeks, but luckily got well. After moving to Ceres, I became very active in all sports including football, baseball, basketball, and soccer. I’ve been to four different schools since kindergarten, Brown, Whitmore Charter, TJHS, and now Pitman. I have two sisters ages three and twelve. Their names are Savannah and Presley, and like all little sisters, they can be annoying but I love them a lot. My parents are wonderful; they support me through everything, and encourage me to follow my dreams. I am now a freshman at Pitman High School and currently playing football. Now that I am in high school, I will be playing football, baseball, and wrestling. My ultimate goal is to receive a full ride scholarship for athletics, and academics. I would love to attend Ohio State, USC, or Michigan.

Regina Kwon is one of the most girliest tomboys you’ll ever meet. Born in the wrong time period, her favorite memories are of those when she was younger. She still prefers being alone rather than entering a crowded place. Despite her passion for sleeping, Regina enjoys being wide awake and learning new things each and every day. Many blessed people have touched her life, and she highly appreciates the ones who have stayed with her through thick and thin.
Rivalry is something she can never escape from; although it is hard for her to understand, she takes these situations and tries to discard them. Some of her treasured hobbies are sketching and painting objects or people that inspire her. After all, she was born an adventurer! It’s difficult to stay grounded, yet simple for her to stay driven. She believes life itself is all about your self attitude, trusting your inner strengths and struggles, and sewing up all of your weak patches. Regina knows imperfection is quite beautiful, so she likes emphasizing her flaws. She is the biggest nerd ever; who excludes letting people know that side of her, only for them to find out.
It’s safe to say she’ll go out of her way to make her peers feel comfortable and most importantly –loved. Even though she can be vulnerable, and may have a few spineless spots, keep in mind she can be very aggressive, self-loathing, and unpredictable. She takes her thoughts and personal instincts into consideration, and always chooses mind over heart. In the end, she prefers showing others what she wants to show them and the rest is history. This California raised sweetheart can show multiple sides to her. One of her favorite quotes is, “She used to be the sweetest girl.”
