Google is working on releasing a brand new item for their online users called Google Music. Employees of Google are the first ones to test the streaming service. Google was hoping to launch their service late in 2010 and then postponed it to the month of March in 2011. There was a further delay to the service and it is being tested before the final product is to be released this May.
Google music is a service that Google is releasing to allow their users to browse through music. The service is going to be iTunes’ new competition. Although other companies have tried to compete against iTunes they have all failed. Google has a good chance of being a strong rival for the Apple Company because of its previous success in digital music: YouTube music videos, which are ad supported and free to viewers, and have become a popular way to discover new songs.
During a Google conference the company said they would release the service in 2010. Google revealed what the service was capable of at that point. They said that the user could stream music on a computer or an Android Phone. Rumors say that Google is working on creating a digital locker to allow users to put there music libraries online for access from other devices.
You can expect to see the Google music service released around May.
