On February first, Activision released a whole new multi-playing Call of Duty experience. The comany released the first “Strike Pack” for COD: Black Ops on the Xbox360.
The “First Strike” contains four new multi-player maps and a new zombie experience.
One map, known as the Stadium, is a competitive map set in an ice hockey rink. Kowloon, the second map, is multi-player and takes place on the rooftops of Kowloon. The most popular new map is the Berlin Wall, a multi-player fight for checkpoint, Charlie.
Discovery is a competitive map set in an Antarctic research facility, based on the Reznov mission from the single player campaign. All these maps are for multi-player action, to play with or against your friends and enemies.
The new zombie map is called Ascension. It takes place at a launch facility and the players are attacked by wave after wave of zombies. There are new weapons, perks, and strategies on this map. It will feature the Gersch Device, described as a ‘Black Hole Bomb’, and Matryoshka Dolls, which are some kind of claymore or monkey-bomb type weapon. The Gersch is a useful weapon and is equivalent to the Thunder Gun. As for new perks, you’ll be pleased to know that there are two new additions. These are the ‘PhD Flogger’ and the ‘Stamin-Up’ perks. The Stamin-Up perk will give you unlimited sprint with any gun. The PhD Flogger perk allows you to dive from a height (ledge or staircase) without any damage, and your body will act as a mini nuke and kill surrounding zombies. Ray gun does no splash damage on you either.
Xbox360 players have gotten the privilege to purchase the new map pack earlier than the PS3 users. The map was released on February first for Xbox players and is yet to be released for PS3 players. The map pack is said to come out in March for the PS3. It costs 1200 Microsoft Points which costs about 15 USD, and are said to be worth it for all those playing the game.
