On Saturday May 7th, Fox television said former Pussycat Doll singer, Nicole Sherzinger will co-host “The X Factor” with Simon Cowell. Cheryl Cole and L.A. Reid have also been confirmed to be judges on the television show. However, Paula Abdul was most recently confirmed as a judge; Abdul and Cowell have previously worked together on “American Idol.”
The X Factor is a television series that originated in the United Kingdom. It was created as a replacement for the show “Pop Idol.” The show is a singing competition. Many successful singers have launched their career through “The X Factor,” such as Leona Lewis.
The executive producer of the show is Simon Cowell. The prize that the victor usually wins is a recording contract. The competition is now held in various countries and is a sensational show. This year will be the first year it will be held here in the United States.
As of 2010, there have been 47 winners of “The X Factor” across the world. The show is solely judged by the judges unlike other singing competition shows where the viewers have an input. Each judge is assigned a category and then assists the contestant with their song selection and style.
The new show to the United States is now highly anticipated. The judge line up seems fitting due to the fact that they all have experience in the music industry. According to the success of “The X Factor” in other countries, I’m sure it will be an amazing success here in the United States when it debuts.
