Eight years ago, few people would disagree with the statement that Lindsey Lohan was off to a bright and successful career. We used to know Lindsay as the sweet, red-haired, innocent little girl who captivated our hearts in the movie, The Parent Trap. Lohan started acting at a very young age and has made many memorable movies. She was a child star and then a teenage star which made growing up in the limelight very difficult. So does Lindsay still have a chance to win respect back from her fans?
On March 3, 2012, Lindsay had the chance to redeem herself on Saturday Night Live, after a long period of probation. Many people did not know what to expect from Lindsay’s return. The reaction to her performance was mostly negative. According to the website OCRA, people were on the fence with her performance. It was not her greatest performance, some sources seem to say. One commented on the OCRA website that, “It was sloppy and she could not even remember her lines.” As someone who saw the actual episode, I could agree that it was not the same girl we saw on screen six years ago.
Lindsay has passed through difficulties while being a young kid. However, she has ruined her reputation in how she responded to these situations. She ruined her name because of alcohol, drugs, partying, and scandals like her sexuality and inappropriate leaked photos. Because of her parents’ rocky relationship, she also developed depression from their separation.
At this point, Lindsey Lohan needs to give 110% to make a full recovery, similar to Robert Downey Jr.’s return to acting in recent years. She is currently working on a new project by playing the role of talented actress, Elizabeth Taylor. Ultimately, she needs to prove to her audience that she can overcome her obstacles without having another party-related relapse.
