Nintendo, the popular software company, has been around since September 23, 1889 as one of the best selling video game industries in history. Nintendo has sold more than 4.4 billion video games, and more than 703 million hardware units globally.

Super Mario Odyssey is one of Nintendo’s newest games on the somewhat new Nintendo Switch. In this game, Mario’s hat gets possessed by a spirit named Cappy. Cappy controls the hat, allowing Mario to transform into other characters and different objects. Mario is trying to save Princess Peach from Bowser, who is trying to marry Peach. Mario and Cappy set off on a journey across many different worlds. This includes the city, which makes the game experience much more realistic as gamers try to and stop Bowser from marrying Peach.

In order for Mario to be able to go across the galaxy and beyond, he has to have a spaceship to transport him to and from his many destinations. The spaceship that Mario uses is called Odyssey. The player can buy “stickers” and “souvenirs” to place in and on the spaceship to decorate. This feature makes the spaceship seem like a suitcase or the player’s own house/room, helping the player feel more involved in their with Super Mario Odyssey.

As Mario is going through all the new worlds, the player is getting a whole new sense of the world Mario is living in, making the player feel like they are in his world. The meaning of this is to give a 3D sense to the game, like Super Mario 3D Land. Some people who have had the opportunity to experience this new game say that it’s more of a vacation from the real world, rather than just a game being played.

One of the main realistic worlds that Mario and Cappy visit is New Donk City. This world is meant to be like New York City, having many of the same realistic features as an actual city would. Some small details and graphic designs give the city a new view to the player, adding thrill and adventure to Super Mario Odyssey.

Overall, Super Mario Odyssey is already the fastest selling Super Mario game in all of Nintendo history, selling more than 1.1 million copies in just five days of its releasing.
