On a cold, rainy day in March, Austin Bird was born at Emanuel Hospital. Austin was handed an egg, it suddenly moved and cracked and out came Charles the pterodactyl! Charles was Austin’s best friend since the time they were born. Charles was big, strong, and sophisticated. They did everything together such as ride bikes, play sports, and went to the same great school, Pitman High School. They shared the same awesome teachers, Mrs.Perino and Mr.Moreno. Charles would fly Austin to school every day and bring him home from football practice every evening. Austin was tall, smart, and a great football player. Austin was accepted to Oregon State where he played football along with Charles. Austin was drafted into the NFL, sadly, Charles was not. The two of them became more and more separated every day. Austin’s team made it to the Super Bowl undefeated and won. He was named Super Bowl MVP with 14 rushes for 148 yards and 3 touchdowns. He realized he’d forgotten all about Charles and retired from the NFL in hopes of finding Charles.Fortunately, he found Charles, but he had no idea what to say to him because it had been 2 years since they last talked. Austin walked up to him and said “Hey, I haven’t seen you in a while.” 2 days later they were best friends again.
