Unsure of where you want to attend college? Unsure as to what colleges have to offer? Then you should have gone to college night. College night was held last Monday from 5:30PM to 7 o’clock PM in Pitman High School’s cafeteria.
The purpose of college night was to have representatives come to Pitman and show what their school has to offer. There were four representatives present: one was for college sports, another was for CSU colleges, one of them represented UC colleges, and the other representative was from junior colleges. They spoke about what each school has to offer and what the requirements are to be accepted into the colleges. Just for arriving at the college night each individual was handed informational books that told in depth about how to prepare for college.
Although the Marines and Navy didn’t show up, the National Guard and Army representatives did. They told the audience about joining the army and what it was like. The different colleges mentioned included Fresno State, CSU Stanislaus, San Jose State, Cal Poly SLO and many others. The pamphlets handed out showed what the requirements for CSU and UC colleges were; what each college had to offer, the SAT/ACT score average, and what website to go to for more information.
If you are a freshman, sophomore or junior that happened to miss out on this informational night, you can always catch it next year at Pitman High School.
