Gotta catch ‘em all! Pokémon! Pokémon Black and White are the first games of the 5th Pokémon generation. These two games are going to be released on September 18, 2010 in Japan and you can expect them to come out in the spring of 2011 for America.
The new Pokémon game follows the same plot as the other generations; in the beginning you get a choice of one of the three options of starter Pokémon. In the game there are 156 new Pokémon to capture. With the new 156 Pokémon there are a total of 649 to collect! Good luck getting them all this time around. The game will also have 3D graphics to make game play that much better.
Not only do Black and White introduce new Pokémon, but the new games introduce new battle modes! There is a new battle mode called “Triple Battle” where the Pokémon face off in a 3 vs. 3 battle. Another new battle feature is the Rotation Battle. This battle is set out like a Triple Battle but has a brand new means to battle. Here, like with Triple Battles, you send out three Pokémon. However, the stage your Pokémon are on can rotate. You only battle one Pokémon versus one Pokémon with the other Pokémon pushed at the back. However, when you’re battling, you will have the ability of rotating the stage clockwise or counter-clockwise making another of your Pokémon the main Pokémon you intend to use. This does not take your turn away and you have the ability to attack immediately with your new main Pokémon.
Miracle shooter is a new option that let’s the players get items within battle. During gameplay, the players turn so they can earn a certain amount of points which can be spent to buy a revive or ether etc. Buying the item will take up a turn so be careful!
The exact plot of the game is yet to be revealed but there are many predictions that it will be like that of the others; you’re a kid who sets off on an adventure to defeat the elite four and there’s an evil gang that you must stop. The protagonist beats the antagonist and when the Elite Four is beaten, you must go out and catch all the Pokémon. This is just a general guess based on earlier games, the game designers might just pull out something completely different and unexpected.
So, all you Poké Fans, stay alert during spring of 2011 for the release of Pokémon Black and White!
