It’s been 11 years in the making: students from Pitman High School are participating in the school’s first ever Powder Puff game! For anyone who does not know what Powder Puff is, it is when girls play football with no pads or tackling and the guys cheer along the sidelines.
Pitman High School will be hosting the game at Joe Debely Stadium on December 5th. Juniors and seniors will compete for bragging rights and show who the better graduating class is.
“I think the girls will do great, we have a lot of tough athletes! Also, the guys are going to be very creative and entertaining,” answered Mrs. Jennifer Olesen, resource teacher, Pitman High School.
Powder Puff has always brought joy to the crowd and everybody seems to love watching. Every year, Turlock High School has a big turn out and no one can wait to see how Pitman does.
“The Athletic Booster Club approached the administration and was really instrumental into getting it started,” stated Coach Thad Moren.
One does not need any experience in playing football, all a person needs to do is get his/her physical packet from the activities office and turn it in by November 12th.
“I’m coaching the junior girls and I can not wait to see them win!” stated Coach Eric Reza.
A lot of thought and hard work has been put into this and the coaches can not wait to get started. Anybody can come watch and support Pitman and definitely have fun. This will be a game not to miss!
