Turlock is finally getting their name out there! Director Corbin Bernsen is filming Turlock’s first feature film on December 5th through the 18th. Bernsen will be looking for 200 to 300 extras to be in the movie, all those age 18 or older of any ethnicity are welcome.
“We’ve been working on bringing a major movie here for two years,” said Turlock Film Commission Founder Michael Everett.
The movie is about a 30-year-old woman named Gwyneth who is tired of dating jerks and goes to a Christian dating website to find a nice guy. She meets Mr. Right, the son of a pastor, but there’s only one problem: Gwyneth isn’t exactly telling the truth about her religion.
“She’s not Christian, but she’s not what he’s looking for,” expressed Bernsen.
The movie will be filmed mostly in downtown Turlock and CSUS. Corbin Bernsen set the movie in the windy city of Chicago though knowing that Turlock looked nothing like Chicago. The director knew it would be too expensive to shoot a movie in Chicago, and he really liked all the scenery in Turlock and it would not cost him so much money.
“It’s thanks to Turlock’s diverse range of looks,” Michael Everett stated,” with both nice neighborhoods, the Westside, a scenic downtown, the park-like CSUS campus and abandoned buildings on Golden State Boulevard, Turlock can look like anywhere!”
This family-friendly romantic comedy will definitely attract more people to Turlock. Many movie directors have already heard about Turlock and seem to love it here. Turlock will not only be put on the map, but as Everett said- it will eventually turn into a second Hollywood.
