It’s the new buzz in the world of Apple. It’s huge, with a new look, and definitely ready for its spotlight. Welcome to the world, iPhone 6s/6s Plus!

Apple recently added the newest addition to the Apple family. On September 25th, Apple released the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus at every AT&T, Verizon, T-mobile, including of all Apple’s retail stores. Apple always waits two years to release a new number of iPhone. Sandwiched between the year the iPhone 6’s release on the nineteenth of September last year and the iPhone 7 coming this upcoming year, 2016, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus mark only one more year until the iPhone 7 makes its way into every Apple product lover’s life.

What is the big deal with the new and improved iPhones 6s and 6s Plus? Are they really truly worth buying a new phone? Here are some things everyone just has to know about Apple’s newest products, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

Basic Information

  • The iPhone 6s is $649 online and the iPhone 6s Plus is $749 (depending on one’s plan and the storage chosen on the phone).
  • The iPhones 6s and 6s Plus have the same size and have the same screen displays as the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, just don’t tell them that because it makes them less special!

Appearance

  • Both of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus come in the colors silver, space gray, rose gold, and gold.
  • The iPhone 6s has a 4.7-inch display, whereas the iPhone 6s Plus has a 5.5-inch display.
  • Twenty four apps fit on one page of the elongated home screen of the iPhone 6s- four more than the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s.

Tips ‘N’ Tricks

  • 3D Touch- From Apple, “It senses how deeply you press the display, letting you do all kinds of essential things more quickly and simply.” Basically, the new iPhone’s have a more sensitive glass screen that can discern between a gentle tap, a hard jab, and a lingering hold of a finger. 3D touch, or pressure touch, is where one holds their finger down on one app and a pop up menu comes up with options for that one app. From Buzzfeed, “3D Touch is kind of like right-clicking on a mouse, or double-tapping on a MacBook keyboard; it opens up secondary interactions with a digital element. 3D Touch adds to the iPhone’s existing Multitouch gesture options.”
  • Battery Life- Based on this other Buzzfeed post, when used above average usage from ten in the morning to seven at night, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus still had a kicking ten percent left in it.
  • Camera- These new iPhones have an improved camera. From Apple, “The iSight camera captures beautiful 12-megapixel still photos.” Additionally, flash was added to the front-facing camera for everyone’s selfies in the dark. Last, but not least, the camera now takes a picture before and after the intended picture just so one doesn’t miss the perfect photo.

So, that’s the new iPhone. Is it worth it, really?
