Last week on October 2nd, U.S. reality T.V. star Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in Paris at the Paris fashion week. Kim had reportedly been in her hotel room when five men came in a bound and gagged her and left her in the bathtub. It is also reported that she begged for her life while the robbers had the gun to her head. After being put in the bathtub, she escaped her being bound and screamed for help, prompting the robbers to leave.

The thieves took $10 million worth of jewelry from the apartment, including a $4 million engagement ring given to her by Kanye West that he has told her he was going to replace; she is refusing his offers to replace the ring.

Sources say she has been paranoid ever since the ordeal and is beefing up her security to some new extremes, with one unidentified family member claiming “Kim is being absolutely ridiculous!” She has hired a security team of armed guards that partly consists of former secret service agents. That source also reported that she is afraid to leave the house and her big purchase of an armored vehicle is seriously worrying her sisters.

She has since cancelled all public appearances, paid and unpaid, and the Kardashian reality show is being put on hold indefinitely. Her husband, Kanye West, has been spending large amounts of money on her in order to make her feel safe from their L.A. home. Although, the source reports that they are spending more than they are making with this issue, hinting that they are taking it overboard.

Despite accusations of going too far, sources report that this was a completely life-changing event for Kim and it made her realize what she was doing wrong and that she was naive about her wealth. Her mother spoke for the first time on twitter recently about the robbery saying that “Every morning is a reminder of how blessed we are. Today I am grateful for my family, who I love more than words can explain. Count your blessings, be grateful always, and cherish every moment you spend with your loved ones”.

The police in Paris are still pursuing this robbery but are having trouble making progress; they claimed that the criminals tricked them with a decoy including pretending to fall off a bike and pretending to drop a piece of jewelry. What they have said is that even though it seems like they want to look like amateurs, the police are confident that these were professionals.
