Pitman football’s highest winning streak was in 2011, coached by Brandon Harris when they were 6-0 (six wins-0 loses) before losing to Buhach Colony their seventh game. On a poor choice, the Pride lost the game 27-24.

The 2016 team were put in the same position this season, being 6-0 and playing Buhach Colony for the seventh game. However, the end result was different.

Pitman beat Buhach Colony 34-27.

The team, for the first time in Pitman High School football history was 7-0.

Pitman got their seventh win October 14th and played El Capitan the following week and shut the team out with the final score of 31-0.

The team is currently 8-0, making not only Pitman Football history but also ranking them highly in League and this is important when going to playoffs.

Offensive lineman Chris Martinez said, “Being my senior year and making history for our school is pretty cool. But again, we aren’t – or we try not to- let the numbers get to our head. Any team has the ability to beat us at any given moment or time.”

Coach Chris Wolfley said, “We play games one by one so our record is just a number. We try not to let the numbers affect our game.”

Player Van Concepcion also said, “Our record doesn’t mean much. We just think about the game that is coming up the following week.”

The entire team seems to be very humble about their current record and the phrase “anyone can beat us if we don’t play our game” is an all-around agreed statement for the players and coaches.

The pride has two games left in the Central California Conference. They still have to go head-to-head with Golden Valley High School (away game) and Turlock High School (home game).

The Pride has already achieved something great but they are determined to do even better. Pitman plays Golden Valley High October 28 @ GV at 7:00 p.m.
