On May 9th, 2002, Netflix, an American multinational entertainment company skyrocketed with 5.5 million shares. Over time it’s become more and more popular. In July 2016, Netflix reported over 83 million paid subscribers worldwide, including more than 47 million in the United States.

Everyone in the twenty first century is very familiar with Netflix or at least has heard of it. This company has so many people hooked, specifically targeting the younger crowd.

Since Netflix has become such a huge hit, some watchers have become somewhat obsessed. Instead of watching one episode per week, Netflix members choose to watch (on average) an entire series per week. This is known as “Binge Watching.” Hardcore binge watchers can sometimes watch an entire season in twenty four hours.

Now binge watching is clearly considered the new normal. But not everyone enjoys the same series the same way.

Recently, Netflix revealed The Binge Scale. The Binge Scale is exactly what it sounds like. It tells the audience the average shows Netflix members devour and which shows Netflix members savor.

The show The 100 lands on the “hard to pull away” portion of The Binge Scale. According to The Binge Scale, most shows on this part of the scale are action packed and assault your senses.

The Walking Dead and American Horror Story have classic horror and thriller elements. Therefore these shows land on the “devour until the end” part of The Binge Scale.

For those who love watching shows about the super natural, Supernatural and Stranger Things are definitely the perfect choice.

In the “Tween” category, which is one of the largest, it lists several shows perfect for tweens. Of course, anyone can watch these shows because they are in fact addicting. Shows like The Vampire Diaries and its spinoff, The Originals, were at the top of this list because what tween doesn’t want to Binge watch the romantic and dramatic shows about vampires? It also lists The Secret Circle, Reign, Gossip Girl, and 90210 as great shows for tweets or anyone to watch.

Last but certainly not least is the very popular, original Netflix show Orange is the New Black, which falls in the comedic and dramatic category. This show has proven to be very addicting and it lands on the “just one more episode” level on the scale.

Netflix has the perfect Binge worthy show for anyone and everyone.

“As The Binge Scale indicates, the viewing experience of a series can range from the emotional to the thought-provoking,” said Cindy Holland, Vice President of Original Content at Netflix. “Netflix helps you to find a series to binge no matter your mood or occasion, and the freedom to watch that series at your own pace – whether that’s to appreciate the drama of Bloodline or power through Orange is the New Black.”
