Our millennial generation has come to a need for the consumption of E-Cigarettes and Vaporizers, these products containing nicotine are harmful for our youth, young adults, and the future generations ahead. E-cigarettes contain mostly nicotine as well as other chemicals that are known to damage health.

A pharmacist of the name of Hon Lik created the basic e-cig in 2003 which has only boomed in the industry ever since. He wanted to put together a device that still had the nicotine flavor that produced inhalable vapor to minimize the amount of smokers that smoke traditional cigarettes. This was designed to give people the same feel and taste for a more reasonable price.

Many people ask what the differences are between the basic e-cig and the vaporizer pens. Vaporfi explains the difference between the basic e-cig, and personal vaporizers;

“The basic e-cig look-a-like is very similar in size, shape and weight to a traditional cigarette, and contains three parts: the battery, the cartomizer (a combination of the cartridge and the atomizer) and a silicone mouthpiece. An LED light on the end of the battery glows when the user inhales, resembling the burning tip of a cigarette. The cartridge within the cartomizer holds the e-liquid and is usually disposable once empty. Vaporizers, which resemble a large fountain pen more than a cigarette, are considered a step-up from the first-generation Chinese e-cigs, and offer vapers more advanced, customizable options. The vaporizer is composed of a large battery on one end, a clear reservoir tank in the middle and a mouthpiece. By pressing a small button on the side of the battery, the user engages the heating element which vaporizes the e-juice and releases tasty vapor.”

There is not too much of a difference of these two products, but use of these two products are starting to be noticed with harmful side effects starting to surface. There have been cases of lipoid pneumonia which is the buildup of fatty lipids inside the lungs. This is caused from the oils that are used in the pen.

There have also been cases where people have felt restriction from their lungs and the cause from that comes from propylene glycol, which can cause respiratory irritation and could even increase your chances of getting asthma.

Since this is a newly developed products there are still many things to be find out from the e-cig and vaporizer devices, and would be best if people from the age of 18 years or younger should stay away from these products.
