With two games left for the CCC title hunt the Pride is hoping to win out. Not only will this be a nice end to the Pride’s basketball season, but it may help to heave the varsity team into a better playoff position. The Turlock High Bulldogs and the Merced High Bears are currently tied for first place in the CCC, with the Pride sitting in the second place category.
The Pride has already faced the two top dogs; Turlock High School and Merced High School, but the Pride is on a two game losing streak. This may prove to be a downfall for the Pride, but the Varsity team is optimistic. They have already beaten their last two opponents. The Pride beat down Golden Valley Cougars with a ten point cushion, but had a close game with Los Banos Tigers, which the Pride only won by five points.
The Pride has almost certainly locked in a spot in the playoff season, but their rank is not so hot. This is a result of their 6-4, win-lose record in the CCC. The only hope for a good seat in the rankings will come from two more Pride victories. The seeding will come down to the final games of the seasons, so the Pride will have to give it their all, hold nothing back, and leave it all on the court.
