Daniel Craig is back as “Bond, James Bond” in the newest addition to his 007 movie franchise, Spectre.

With its premiere on November 6th, Spectre wrangled in a whopping $70,403,148 and a gross of $137,042,589. The film’s budget was estimated at $245,000,000 and was directed by Sam Mendes with screenplay by John Logan. With a run time of 148 minutes, Spectre is considered an action, adventure, and thriller movie.

Spectre begins with Agent 007, also known as the famous and sometimes infamous James Bond (Craig), in Mexico City amid the celebrations of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Bond is on a rogue, solo mission. This scene is action-packed and loaded with what one would expect in a Bond movie: jaw-dropping stunts, aha-moment gadgets, and even a helicopter spinout. Following this, Bond travels to Rome, where he uncovers the existence of the mysterious organisation, known only as SPECTRE.

Throughout the film, 007 learns more of SPECTRE. He tracks down Dr. Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), the daughter of deceased nemesis Mr. White (Jesper Christensen). They travel together to a hotel in Morocco called L’Americain, where they find a clue from Mr. White on where to find SPECTRE.  Bond runs into even more enemies (who are all linked to the organization), plot twists, and obstacles to the main mission through the course of the film. Of course, Bond is able to triumph over all of this and complete his mission and win the girl.

Madeleine Swann plays Bond’s lady love. Towards the end, 007 has to save Madeleine in three minutes before the building they’re in, the old MI6 headquarters, explodes. He finds her with 45 seconds to spare, naturally, and they escape the building in a boat as the structure crumbles behind them. In the final scene, Madeleine and Bond drive away in his signature vintage Aston Martin.

Even critics couldn’t resist the charm of Bond. Rotten Tomatoes gave Spectre a 63%. iMDb gave it a 7.2/10. According to Peter Travers of Rolling Stone:

“If there is such a thing as ‘James Bond’s Greatest Hits’ then Spectre is it.”

There are three main components to James Bond movies: womanizing, drinking, and gambling. Except gambling, Spectre includes all of these.

Daniel Craig gives an amazing and impressive performance as James Bond. As in all his Bond movies, Skyfall (2012), Quantum of Solace (2008), and Casino Royale (2006), Craig brings more life and character into the role of James Bond than any other previous Bond actor.

The big question remains: Who will replace Daniel Craig?
According to Mirror.co.uk, “The actor has reportedly signed up to star in a new film according to the Star, while his SPECTRE co-star Dave Bautista says he expects him to play 007 for at least another film.”

So far, there is no confirmed addition to the series, but everyone can sleep safely now that at least one or two are in the works with Craig as 007.
