90’s kids should grab their snacks and sign on to Netflix because Full House is back!

As of April 12, 2015, John Stamos officially announced on Jimmy Kimmel Live that Netflix is producing a spinoff season of the original Full House, but this time it is featuring the characters in their later years of life, in a 13 episode series, “Fuller House.”

This long-awaited sequel is said to be released on February 26, 2016, and will contain a majority of the old actors such as Candace Cameron Bure (DJ Tanner), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner), Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler), Dave Coulier (Joey), Lori Loughlin (Aunt Becky), Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), and John Stamos (Uncle Jesse)  in the show.

The season will begin with an hour long special that acts as a family reunion, and will lead into the spinoff series.

The spinoff will follow the legend of Full House but now reversed the gender roles from the original plot. The Tanner daughters will be grown up and taking on the role of the men who raised them.

Tanner’s daughter, DJ, will take on the role of her father, Danny, and play the role of a pregnant mom who was recently widowed and living in San Francisco. DJ will live with her sister Stephanie who will take on the role of her Uncle Jesse, as she will be an eager musician and also living with Kimmy Gibbler, the single mom and jokester who will resemble Joey.

Unfortunately, Netflix could not get the Olsen twins, who previously played Michelle Tanner, to get on board with the show. According to US Weekly, Michelle will be spending her time living in New York and building her own fashion empire.

However, despite the absence of the Olsen twins, some other new characters will also be added to the show. This includes DJ’s three children (the youngest played by twins) and Kimmy’s kid, along with many other guest stars throughout the season.

Since the announcement of this new project, Netflix has released a minute long teaser to entice their old fans for the new airing. This teaser doesn’t show any of the cast however, and only pans over all of the family’s old rooms. It ends with the Tanners arriving at the door and even has snippets of old sayings from the show such as Joey’s famous line, “Cut it out.”

Fans can only hope that this series can live up to the expectations!
