In the year of 2015 alone, over 25 attacks targeting civilians outside of Iraq and Syria have been linked to ISIS- Islamic State.

Some of the biggest attacks were the Paris attacks (129 dead), Yemen Mosque bombing (130 dead), and the biggest attack was the Egypt Russian plane attack (244 dead). All the attacks targeted innocent civilians.

On December 2, 2015, a married couple shot and killed 14 people at a party in San Bernardino, California. This couple pledged to ISIS, connecting the attack to them. Also in Egypt, a gunman carrying an ISIS flag opened fire injuring tourists.

One of the most recent and talked about attacks was the Paris bombing. There were a total of five different attacks the night of November 13th, all in different locations. This attack ended with 129 innocent people dead and many more injured.

Since June of 2014, the Islamic State has carried out 50 terrorist attacks in 18 different countries that left 1,100 and injured an additional 1,700 people.

There has been several attacks on police officers that were also affiliated with ISIS. These attacks have been growing larger since 2014. It seems to be that as time and technology progresses, the attacks do as well and injuries and deaths.

The dangers that people worldwide are facing because of ISIS is unexplainable and frightening. In February of 2015, they released a video of the beheadings of over 20 Christians.

Now in 2016, President Obama is still testing different strategies against ISIS. Although, he does ensure that everyone knows we are not at war with the Islamic State.

In recent interviews, President Obama is pressured to assure us Americans that the land-grab was contained. He also says “Never been more protective.”

These attacks have left us Americans wondering if our government really can give us the protection we need against terrorists. Obama’s way of explaining things to us is to keep us calm and ensure we know he is doing everything he can to keep us safe.

Obama has said that wouldn’t change things we have done in the past but just make them stronger and more efficient. He did once say he did not have a strategy against ISIS. Americans are shaken up knowing that the leader of our country doesn’t have a plan to address something as big as the Islamic State.

The scariest and most difficult thing to face for a world living with ISIS is never knowing when or where they could strike next. Like previous attacks, ordinary people that commit massive crimes end up being linked to ISIS. The fact that anything could happen within miles of you and your family is the biggest fear of many after all that has happened in the past.
