Avocados are probably the best food that was ever created. The benefits that avocados have to offer are limitless! They truly are a fabulous fruit!


Believe it or not avocados are great for the skin. It helps rejuvenate and hydrate dry skin, helps protect against harmful UV rays from the sun, and also helps control wrinkles and age spots when applied directly on the skin. It also helps minimize acne breakouts because the amino acid, glutamine, in avocados cleanses the skin.


Avocados also help treat dry hair and balding. Rubbing mashed avocado on the scalp can give shine to your hair and health to your scalp. Even the Egyptians used avocados to prevent hair loss.


Eating avocados have even more benefits. Avocados are a source of high quality protein so they are great to eat after a workout.


Avocados help to lower LDL cholesterol, a type of cholesterol that is bad for the body, and increases HDL cholesterol which is good for the body. Avocados are an anti-inflammatory and decrease the risk of breast and prostate cancer.


Avocados can even improve eyesight! Avocados are rich in Lutein which helps protect the eyes and also prevent cataracts.


Here are some healthy avocado recipes that are good for you but most importantly super tasty!


Avocado pasta

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 10 minutes

Yield: 4 servings



  • 12 ounces of spaghetti
  • 2 ripe avocados halved, pitted, and peeled
  • ½ cup fresh basil (sub. Parsley)
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • ⅓ cup olive or avocado oil
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • ½ cup canned corn kernels drained and rinsed (optional)
  • ⅓ cup of feta cheese (optional)



In a large pot, cook the pasta. Once it’s finished make sure to drain well.

For the avocado sauce, mix the avocados, basil, garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and oil in a food processor or blender. Blend the ingredients until smooth.

In a large bowl combine pasta, avocado sauce, cherry tomatoes, corn kernels, and feta cheese.




This dish is best eaten the day it is made. It will last about two to three days refrigerated.


Avocado fruit smoothie



  • ½ cup of fresh or frozen blueberries
  • ½ avocado pitted and sliced
  • ½ large frozen banana sliced
  • ½ cup baby spinach or kale
  • 1 teaspoon of honey or agave
  • 1 cup of orange juice or water
  • ½ cup of ice (as needed)




Place all ingredients in a blender and blend. Stop every once in awhile to push anything that gets caught in the sides.
