“Wildcats are in the house, everybody say it now!”

After a decade of High School Musical’s debut, the East High Wildcats are back with their head in the game.

Social media has lately been roaring about the latest news, the writer of the original High School Musical movie is adding more to the franchise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, fans aren’t expecting any less from what viewers have seen in the other movies when discovered that Peter Barsocchini will be co-writing the script along with Baby Daddy writer, Dan Berendsen. Barsocchini will surely bring back the fond memories.

“High School Musical is part of Disney’s Channel’s DNA,” Disney Channels Worldwide president and CCO Gary Marsh said Tuesday in a statement. “It embodies all that we stand for.As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we’re excited to announce  ‘the start of something new ‘-as we launch a search for a new class of east high wildcats to star in a fourth installment of the High School Musical franchise.

Though it seemed too good to be true, it was later revealed the original cast of the movie isn’t actually going to be in it and a new cast will be added. Auditions will be starting soon, but Barsocchini gave fans a head start of what they will be expecting. So far of what has been revealed, there are six main characters with a similar personality to the old characters.

First up, there is Campbell. He’s the Troy Bolton 2.0. He’s the movie theater star and the captain of the soccer team, but most importantly he is also known to be Sharpay and Evan’s cousin. The family legacy continues.

Then we have Erin, she’s a competitive soccer player who happens to be the only girl in the boys’ soccer team. Like all good girls seem to do, she debates on following her heart when she falls for the bad boy. Oh boy!

Following comes Erin’s best friend at East High Nathalie. There isn’t much to say about her but you can say they are the new Gabriella and Monique.

Now introducing the bad boy-Derek. He as well shares two things in common with Erin. He plays in the school’s soccer team and falls for her as well. Derek gives the impression of a real tough guy but is actually kind at heart. In his spare time, he teaches little girls dance classes in his family’s studio .Sweet, right?

Of course there can’t be a show without mini Sharpay, that’s where Tamara comes in. She’s the queen bee of the place, to also happen to be a cheerleader. Just like any diva, Tamara is desperate to be at the top of the popularity food chain.

New choreography and new catchy songs will be added too. It’s been said that Jefferey Hornaday that was in charge for the choreography of the Teen Beach Movie will also go on with this new project.

Audiences will also be in for another surprise. There is a new rival in town, the East Knights and from what we have discovered so far, it’s not going to be pretty. The competition is rising. Characters are going to feel more pressured than ever.

As you can tell by now, the wildcats aren’t all about basketball this year, it’s soccer that took its place, but the theater life prevails. Now many wait anxiously for more clues. A lot may happen throughout this unexpected ride, but after all, we are all in this together.
