Wicked, the Broadway musical telling the story of the witches who live in awes long before Dorothy dropped it, returns to San Francisco get this March.

One witch, Elphaba, was born with emerald green skin. She’s smart, fiery, and completely misunderstood.

The other witch, Glinda, it’s beautiful. She’s loved by almost everyone. She’s ambitious, peppy, and very well known.

Wicked, created by Broadway producer Steven Schwartz, tells the story of Elphaba and Glinda, and how these two completely different friends go to become Glinda the Good Witch the Wicked Witch of the West that encounter Dorothy when she gets to Oz.

On May 28, 2003, the first performance of Wicked was held at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco, as the start of SHN pre-Broadway tryouts. After officially opening on June 10, 2003, it ran there for the month and finished on June 29, 2003.

Wicked is based off the best-selling novel written by Gregory Maguire.

Rachel tucker portrays Elphaba compass the emerald green skinned girl who attends Schiz.

Carrie St. Louis portrays Glinda, the very beautiful blond girl who is popular.

Judy Kaye will play Madame Morrible, The headmistress at Schiz, the Elphaba, Glinda, Nessarose and many other witches attend. She’s a villain in both the book and the movie.

Peter Scolari plays the mysterious Wizard of Oz.

Dawn E. Cantwell plays Nessarose, mostly known as the Wicked Witch of the East, and is Elphaba’s sister who’s bound to a wheelchair.

Audiences will be able to meet the cast, after the show they can take pictures with them and get their autographs.

The success of the Broadway show has led to Behind the Emerald Curtain. Behind the Emerald Curtain is a ninety-minute tour takes the participants by the seeds to look at the props, masks, costumes and the sets used in the show. Participants to get a first-hand account of what is like to be a part of the huge production that Wicked is.

The show will be in San Francisco starting March ninth and will be there until April sixteenth at the SHN Orpheum Theater.

Tickets can be bought online or at the door, on a first come first serve basis.
