On March ninth in North Carolina, Robert Hearne was killed by his nephew Tony Hearne (51), and Hearne’s spouse Linsey Lentz (33).

When they testified in court Hearne and Lentz were found guilty although, Hearne denies killing him and stated it was self-defense. He also denied having Linsey Lents involved. Tony Hearne was charged with murder and Linsey Lentz was charged with failure to report a murder as well as being an accomplice. The judge denied both of them bond.

“I never wanted to fight my uncle but he came in and came at me with his knife” Hearne also said “So were fighting and i tried to defend myself. He was choking me and i was choking him.” From WSOCTV.com

After Tony Hearne killed Robert Hearne the couple panicked, put the body in their car and pulled into an abandoned property off highway 64-90. The couple was caught trying to hide a body in an abandoned house.

In court Hearne said “We brought him up here. I just panicked to hide him. I didn’t know what to do.”

A retired sheriff’s deputy noticed the car when it broke down so he contacted 911. Tony Hearne admitted it was not his plan to bury Robert Hearne at this location but when their car stopped working they had no other choice.

Alexander County Sheriff Chris Bowman said, “The officer found what appeared to be drag marks in the leaves and went to the end of it and found a black male deceased,”

At the time of Tony Hearne being questioned he denied having Linsey Lentz involved. Hearne also denies murdering his uncle and said it was self-defense.

The abandoned location where Robert Hearne was being buried was once a police training ground for SWAT. Tony Hearne had told authorities he had never been to the abandoned house before.

When Hearne was questioned, what was your first thought when the officers came to your car that was stuck he said, “(I) told them I was stuck, man. (I) wasn’t trying to hide or nothing because I was basically trying to defend myself,”

Robert Hearne was found dead and covered with leaves, tires, and wood.

“Hearne told Channel 9’s Dave Faherty that he isn’t a killer and was only defending himself when he choked his uncle, Robert Adam Hearne Jr., to death.”

Tony Hearne never told the police when the fight took place. March tenth officials got a search warrant for and did not find any evidence of fighting or blood in Tony Hearne’s or Robert Hearne’s house.

Recently investigators found evidence that Toby Hearne had killed Robert Hearne in an unspecified location, Albemarle County, then bringing him to Alexander Count. They were ultimately found in Ellendale County attempting to bury him.

Authorities are still in search of the exact location where the homicide occurred.
