When Hip Hop started in the late 70’s early in the Bronx many people followed.There are certain rappers to listen in this genre.

The first pick is Kool G Rap. Most people know him as the founder of the genre in hip hop called Mafioso Rap. Mafioso Rap is a genre in hip hop that relates to mobster references and movie characters. The two main characters that rappers use are either Tony Montana or Vito Corleone. Mafioso has paved the way for rappers like Raekwon,Jay-Z,The Notorious B.I.G.,AZ or Nas.

The Second Pick is Rakim. Back in the late eighties Rakim was one of the top rappers with his dj Eric B. Him and Rakim formed a group and had a 2 classic albums. Paid In Full and Follow the Leader. Rakim split up with Eric B in 1993 and started a solo career. In his lifetime he had released 3 solo albums The 18th Letter,The Master and The Seventh Seal. Rakim is an influence for many rappers today.

The Third Pick is Big Daddy Kane. BDK was one of the many MC’s that were skilled and smooth. He as a rapper has had 7 classic albums. 2 of which were landmarks in east coast hip hop. Some of his songs including Ain’t No Half Steppin and Warm It Up. Kane were marks in the rap game during the eighties. Many people know him as being in the Juice Crew. Big Daddy Kane in his late teens started to Rap and then has carried on and mentored a young Jay-Z after Jay-Z beat him in a rap battle. Big Daddy Kane is considered one of the greats.

The Fourth Pick is KRS-One. He is thought highly as one of the best in Hip Hop. KRS was in the group Boogie Down Productions, where he was with Scott La Rock and D Nice. KRS-One broke up with the group and started a solo career where he released many albums, two of which are considered classics his title name album and Return of the Boom Bap. KRS One is from the home of Hip Hop, the Bronx, and is stated as one of the originators of Hip Hop. He to this day has left his mark like Rakim.

The Fifth Pick is LL Cool J. Many People know him as an actor and TV host. In the mid eighties LL Cool J made a name for himself with his album Radio. With Songs on the album like Can’t Live Without My Radio or Jingalin Baby. LL Cool J continued to shine throughout the nineties with albums like Mama Said Knock You Out, Phenomenon, or Mr. Smith. LL is one of the many rappers that acted or was in movies. He is one of the most known people in Hip Hop and has made a landmark in Hip Hop.
