Many people have tried to do some scary things in the month of October to get into the Halloween spirit. Some have even read a lot of Urban Legends that could possibly be true. Here is some urban legends to scare you into your halloween spirit.

La Llorona

La Llorona is one of the popular urban legends that some parents will tell their kids to scare them into behaving good. It is a Mexican Legend that is said to have been caused because a woman’s husband cheated on her with another woman so she killed her children in a river.

She then realized what she did and killed herself by jumping into the river. Supposedly, the woman in white can now be seen by the banks of the river looking for her children or one can hear the cry of her looking for her children in the river.

The Slit Mouthed Woman

Kuchisake Onna, also known as the slit mouthed woman, is a Japanese Urban Legend. The legend says she was married to a samurai warrior that was schizophrenic and bipolar. He physically abused her and she was unhappy with him so she went off and found another man planning to divorce her husband.

Her husband found out and grew angry and he proceeded to knock her unconscious and tied her to a chair. When she woke up she saw him standing in front of her with a giant pair of scissors. He was going to kill her before she could divorce him.

As the story goes, her husband thought that it would be better to torture her then kill her so he cut her a giant ‘smile’ from ear to ear and told her “Who will love you now?”. Then he proceeded to kill her and and later killed himself after realizing what he had done by stabbing himself in the chest with the same pair of scissors.

Now her spirit roams around Japan wearing a surgical mask and she will go up to strangers and ask, “Do you think I’m pretty?” And before one has time to answer she will rip the mask off and yell, “How about now?” If one says yes both times she will make the same ‘smile’ that she has on the person’s face.

If you answer no one of the times she will kill one a more twisted way than she was killed. If one tells her an answer like,” You’re average” or “I don’t know” she will be confused and nothing will happen to you.

The Black Eyed Children

According to the story, these children will show up at one’s house randomly in the middle of the night and ask to be let in. No one is supposed to let them in at all if one does bad things will happen.

These kids are known to come in pairs and be aged around six to sixteen and they will ask to be let in if one is in a car or in a house.They will try to avoid eye contact and they set off a unnerving vibe that anyone will feel when they see them. One will automatically be scared and not know the reason why.

The Red Room

The Red Room is a Chinese pop-up ad that is said to have new words pop up each time if the person tries to exit out of the ad continually. When the whole sentence pops up it reads,” Do you like the Red Room?”

The person reading it will go crazy and either commit suicide or kill someone. If one’s name is on the bottom of the list the person will kill him or herself. If the person sees one of their friend’s names on the list they will both die.
