As if adult prostitution is not enough to cringe over, California Democrats authorized the prostitution of children without criminal charges or rehabilitation. Beginning on January 1st, the decriminalization of child prostitution was permitted.

Many California residents, and residents of this country for that matter, are going mad over this piece of legislation. Now that there is no longer any punishment, child prostitution rates in California will skyrocket.

Democrats who control California’s government state, “Decriminalizing child prostitution is good public policy that will help victims of human trafficking.”

The reality of this decriminalization is horrid and against human nature. How will law enforcement be able to infiltrate these sex rings without being able to detain employees of these pimps and offer them guidance, food, and a warm place to sleep at night?

The decriminalization of child prostitution incentivizes the exploitation of young individuals and inhibits law enforcement from interfering with minors engaging in the act. Less time in jail and more time on the streets translates to bigger and better cash flow for human traffickers.

Minors involved in the act are obviously the victims here, but with the inhibition of law enforcement being able to put minors into custody, it leaves them to fend for themselves.

Concerned Women for America reports, “The United States Department of Justice uses the number 293,000 as the estimate for youth ‘at risk’ of being commercially sexually exploited.”

Each year over 1,000 children are arrested for prostitution, with up to 2.4 million being involved in trafficking. Concerned Women for America reports, “The United States Department of Justice uses the number 293,000 as the estimate for youth ‘at risk’ of being commercially sexually exploited.”

The real concern about this situation is what the reason is behind Democrats decriminalizing child prostitution. Why would you not want to take minors into custody and help them get their lives together? Use them as a source of intel to bring these industry leading traffickers down and make them face justice? What if this is just the beginning and a country-wide decriminalization is around the corner?

On the mind of many is what President Elect Donald Trump will think of this and what his plans are for the exploited minors of California. Hopefully leaders start to see the ramification of this act on minors who, many times, have no choice to exploit themselves to strangers or not.
