Incredibles 2

(June 15th, 2018)

The sequel to the 2004 animated film, The Incredibles, is set to release by Walt Disney Pictures on June 15th, 2018. The Incredibles 2 will be directed by Brad Bird, the same director of the first movie. It will pretty much take place immediately after the first film. Helen Parr (Holly Hunter), also known as Elastigirl, will be out fighting crime and campaigning for the return of supers. Meanwhile, her husband Bob Parr (Craig T. Nelson), also known as Mr. Incredible, will be at home watching their children Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (Huck Milner) and Jack-Jack. Finally, along with Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson), the Incredibles family will have to battle a new villain. If you were a fan of the first movie, then keep a lookout for Incredibles 2 in June of 2018.

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck it Ralph 2

The sequel to the 2012 animated film, Wreck it Ralph, is set to release by Walt Disney Pictures on November 21st, 2018. It is directed by Rich Moore and Phil Johnston. Wreck it Ralph 2 will be taking place six years after the first film. It will be more focused on the World Wide Web in the sense that Ralph and his BFF Vanellope von Schweetz adventure into the internet when a WiFi router gets plugged into the arcade. If you are interested in watching Ralph encounter new customs, worlds, and characters, then Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck it Ralph 2 might be for you.

Mary Poppins Returns

This is the sequel to the classic, acclaimed 1964 Disney movie, Mary Poppins, starring Julie Andrews as Mary Poppins herself. The revamped sequel, Mary Poppins Returns, is set to release on December 21st, 2018 and will star Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins. The movie will be set in London in the 1930s, 25 years after the 1964 film. Jane and Michael Banks are now grown-up and Michael still living in the house on Cherry Tree Lane with his three children and the housekeeper Ellen. Mary Poppins visits the family due to a tragedy they endured. If you enjoyed the first movie or like the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious song, then this movie will be super for you!

Dumbo

(March 29th, 2019)

An upcoming film directed by Tim Burton and based upon a storyline written by Helen Aberson and is loosely inspired by Walt Disney’s 1941 animated film of the same name. This movie is about Holt (Colin Farrell), a former circus star, finds his life turned upside down when he returns from the war. Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists him to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. The film is set to be released on March 29, 2019.

All in all, the releases of these popular Disney remakes or sequels is extremely exciting because of how popular and loved Disney is in the U.S. Be sure to keep a lookout for these highly anticipated movies in 2018 and 2019.
