The original Super Smash Bros, produced and published in 1999, became an amazing hit with over 5 million copies sold worldwide by 2001. As a child, many nostalgic memories on the Nintendo 64 are harbored as kids played the first original super smash bros from the series. The game focuses on a mixed cast between different Nintendo franchises consisting of  Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Star Fox, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Mother, F-Zero, Yoshi, Kirby, and Pokémon; the crossover game is basically a brawl between different choice of characters and location settings from the various Nintendo games and can even lead up to a multiple player format of four players.

Recently, Nintendo released a mini sneak peak of a new game they will be releasing for the newest console they created, the Nintendo Switch. This famous game series will be coming out soon in 2018 and will be featuring a new gameplay at Los Angeles E3 event. This will be a tournament held for avid super smash bros fans from all around the world will gather for! This new game for the switch will be introducing some veteran and new characters as well as settings, locations, the return of the stage creator mode, new stages, and downloadable content!

Even Pitman High students who have played super smash brawl on the Nintendo 64 as children have heard about the new game for the Nintendo Switch! We decided to ask former Nintendo player, Cynella Aghasi, about how she felt about the new game evolving for the Nintendo Switch and she replied with “It sounds very exciting as i have seen the news on Instagram and Facebook.”

We also went to speak with Claudia Mendoza if she has ever personally played on the Nintendo Switch or the super smash bros and she replied with “Yes, I have played Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 64 as a child!”. As you can tell, we have many students at Pitman High that are looking forward to this new game!
