Serena Williams has become a victim of controversy similar to this certain catastrophe, but this certain event sparked something in the US Open that people didn’t expect. Serena Williams faced her opponent Naomi Osaka.

During the match there was an argument between the manager and the chair umpire. Before the argument ensued Serena threw down her tennis racket in frustration after Osaka earned a point which came afterwards with a series of boos from the audience.

Serena then was giving a warning for illegal coaching from the sidelines. The chair umpire soon came under the argument from the rest of Serena’s tantrum. Serena called the Chair Umpire a “Thief” and tried to use sexism as an excuse for why she was denied a point.

The chair umpire wasn’t the only one involved with the conversation for the managers intervened and tried to calm Serena down. The whole time this conversation took place, Naomi Osaka wasn’t involved in any way with this situation.

Serena after this was upheld from the game and came under more boos from the audience. Naomi Osaka who was presented with the win was told by Serena “They’re not booing you.”

Serena was fined 17,000 for code violations after the US Open. Serena still is disappointed that a point was taken from her. If the point wasn’t taken it might have helped her to win the US Open.

Serena not only started an ongoing controversy but she also has started a media scramble due to her being mentioned in several articles. Naomi Osaka still remains champion of the US Open and has appeared on television talk shows addressing the matter.

The Serena Williams controversy has received mass media attention. There has even been a racist cartoon image depicting Serena stomping on her racket while the chair umpire is telling Naomi Osaka to “let her win.”

This type of cartoon has been featured in a Australian newspaper. This is not the first time a cartoon has depicted a celebrity in a negative. Former President Barack Obama was viewed in a cartoon. His looks were similar to a chimpanzee’s looks. His ears were also enlarged for the former president was known for having big ears. Serena Williams is not only outraged by this but she feels like she is being ridiculed by everyone for her oncoming tantrum.

There are people who would agree with Serena side of the story, but there might be others who have a unlikely approach for this. Serena Williams is regarded by everyone as one of the greatest players in the history of tennis.

The Tennis world has respected Serena as a talented player. While others have judged this event there are many who see a significance in the US Open. Many have said that this moment in the US Open has created a breakthrough for Naomi Osaka as she is receiving praise for willing not to intervene in an argument.

This situation has only decreased and Serena is still regarded as one of the greatest tennis players in the world.
