Career Planning The Step Ahead

Olivia Gonzalez (9th), Reporter

The college/career class was designed and constructed to help you plan out your life when the time comes to leave the nest. For some, the future is just around the corner and for others, their future is miles away.

The majority of the students that graduate have no plans on what to do next, nor have they decided on what career or job they wanted to pursue. They would think they would have all the time in the world to plan it all out. Those kinds of individuals will most likely be living with their parents until they’re 30. It truly is sad to think about. That’s why the college/career course is necessary. The class is an area to learn and discover what your passions may be and you could enhance your daily life skills from then on. So is the college/career course crucial and purposeful? We would want that to be in our minds for the time being.

That is why I’ve interviewed Chloe DeTorre, she is a freshman and currently takes the college/career class. To give us her opinion and perspective on the course, I’ve asked her several questions. She states that the college/career course, ̈Made made me think about my life more. It also gives me credit for college too.¨ Chloe clearly appreciates the existence of the class and is learning so much on the real world.

The importance of the class is grand and will create an impact on the students. They’ll have plenty of experience for what is to come in there life whether it’d be financially, emotionally or physically. The students will be more prepared by being educated by the knowledge they’ve received from the class.
