The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. Being one of the most prestigious events in the fashion industry, celebrities from all over the world attend the event. The Met Gala is known for its unique themes, and the guests are expected to dress up accordingly. The event is also known for its extravagant red carpet looks, with celebrities wearing the most stunning and creative outfits. 

The Met Gala is a celebration of fashion, art, and culture, and it’s always exciting to see what the guests are wearing.

Recently, 2023’s Met Gala took place on the first of May.

The theme of this year’s Met Gala was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. Karl Lagerfeld is known to be the creative founder of Chanel. He passed away February 19, 2019.

This year’s theme was achieved very well, unlike other years. 

Something that surprised me was the amount of celebrities that showed up wearing something related to Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette. Celebrities like Doja Cat, Lil Nas, and Jared Leto had a similar idea of paying respects to Lagerfeld’s most beloved pet.

Doja Cat is seen wearing a floor-length Oscar de la Renta dress with a bejeweled hood with cat ears connected. She was also wearing a prosthetic nose to appear more feline.

With an interview with Doja Cat and Emma Chamberlain, Chamberlain is seen asking Doja Cat appropriate questions. In response, Doja Cat starts meowing. 

Jared Leto showed up in a whole fursuit resembling Choupette. A full body fursuit with a huge cat head. 

Lil Nas X was covered in Swarovski crystals from head to toe. This was complemented with a jeweled eye mask as well. He may not be matching with Jared Leto and Doja Cat’s cat suits, but he is seen with crystalized whiskers, and was also meowing when interviewed.

What did you think of this year’s Met Gala?

I feel as if this year’s Met Gala was pretty rushed. I’m usually always excited to see everyone’s unique styles and compare them to past years, but I felt overwhelmed as if there was so much going on. 

I actually agree. Personally, I think this year’s Met Gala was a mess. Not to mention the cockroach that was caught walking on the carpet.

Overall, I feel like it was completely rushed, and from every video I’ve seen, the carpet looked unclean, and it seemed unorganized. Though, everyone did follow the theme nicely, and I enjoyed viewing everyone’s different pieces.
