Last year Pitman’s Freshman team was blown out the water by Downey High School with a score of 35-0, but this year Pitman’s JV team defeated the Downey Knights 21-10; we got our revenge. We went into halftime feeling nervous with the score 0-10 Downey, not sure if we’d be able to come back. Going into the third quarter, we got a rushing touchdown which made it 7-10. We were still weary whether we’d make it out until the game was spoon-fed to us with a pick 6 in the end of the 3rd quarter. The pick 6 had won us the mental aspect of the game after changing the score to 14-10. Downey was now nervous and our offense, full of pride, made the score 21-10. Our defense was strong throughout the game but our offense needed the morale boost, which we got, after half time. A slow start, and a strong finish, secured our victory against Downey.
