What are Skinwalkers and are They Real?

For a disclaimer: I don’t mean any hate towards Navajo culture and what they believe in.

Some of you are probably wondering what a Skinwalker is. Well in the Navajo culture, a Skinwalker (yee naaldlooshii means “it goes on all fours”) is a harmful witch who has the ability to turn in, possess, or disguise themselves as an animal or sometimes other humans.

According to some traditions, Skinwalkers were once healers and medicine men who were corrupted by their own power and turned to evil. In Navajo society Skinwalkers were blamed for a lot, bad marriages, failed crops, sickness, and sudden death. They often became coyotes, wolves, foxes, or bears etc.…

They are able to read minds, control animals, mimic other animals, inflict pain, and are believed to be impossible to catch and kill. But there is a believed way of getting rid of them, which is that a Shaman can make the Skinwalker turn on itself with the right spells. It can be shot with bullets dipped in white ash either in the neck or hands.

Legend has it that you can feel the presence of a Skinwalker by their eyes. If you shine a light on one when they’re in animal form, their eyes glow bright red. In human form, their eyes seem animal-like.

They are said to gather in foreboding places to work dark magic against their victims and engage in various taboo rituals of insects, corpse defilement and sibling murder.

Youtubers. went to. where the… caught a Skinwalker; when they caught it, they stated that when they shot it, they saw whatever was possessing it run away leaving the coyote skin behind. While they were holding it. began getting sick and feeling the need to throw up.

In my opinion I think that anything is possible and Skinwalkers could definitely be real, but from what I’ve seen I’m in the middle of believing that they are real. I would need to see for myself what people are seeing because they are for sure seeing something.
