What is Apple Vision? Apple Vision was launched on Feb 2, 2024, Apple vision is Apple’s newest way to bring a new way of living. This idea was not presented as something that would ¨take over¨ but more so expose people to a more technological world.

The design is fairly simple and looks like most other virtual reality headsets. In a lot of ways the Apple Vision pros take inspiration from virtual reality. You have access to all your online things while they are displayed out in front of you like a big screen. These things are presented around you and you can look around to see the outside world the exact same.  It has a virtual keyboard that only you can see when having the goggles on. You can type, scroll, swipe etc. These allow you to take your work with you anyplace and anywhere and still be engaged in your reality. 

While a lot of people were very intrigued by this new product, there was a lot of controversy surrounding them. Many people felt this was taking it ¨too far”and no one should ever be that connected to technology. Others felt this was a great new fun way to be able to work and are excited to see what comes next. 

I decided to ask multiple people what their thoughts were not only on the goggles themselves but what they felt about its effects on people/technology. The two people I interviewed both had two very different opinions. 

I first interviewed Manuel Padilla, a senior here at Pitman High, asking him a few things such as the price, how he felt about technology moving forward, and would he purchase them. This is what he had to say:¨I think the Apple visions pros are cool because they are like phones but on your head and you don’t have to hold it, yes I would personally buy them, I think they are worth the money because of of all its extra features, and I do not think they are too futuristic because they are just like a phone but better.¨ This opinion seems to be very popular with many others as well.

My 2nd interview was Gabriel Ganceda, a junior at PHS. I asked him the same questions. He said,¨I think that the Apple vision is a waste of money and time and it’s making people lazy and making them less active in the real world. I would definitely not buy the Apple vision. No, they are not worth the money. I do feel like they are too futuristic and people wearing them outside their homes are losing their social awareness.¨

These two interviews show just exactly how controversial the opinions on Apple’s newest drop is. There is a lot more to expect from Apple; as we can see, this is just the beginning of a lot of new ideas but what are your opinions? Will you be purchasing the new Apple Pro Vision?
