Freshman Orientation 2024

Freshman+Orientation+2024

We are extremely excited to welcome next year’s freshman, class of 2028! Freshman orientation will be March 25, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. Freshman Orientation is a day for incoming freshmen to meet students, teachers and school staff. There will be tables with clubs and sports sign-up sheets to join or off tryout information. The clubs will also be passing out pamphlets with more information; you can also ask anyone at the tables any questions or concerns you may have.

In the past years freshman orientation has always been a success.  Freshman get to meet each other, have fun and see the school.

Yesenia Flores, administrative secretary of curriculum and instruction, was so kind to give us more information on this year’s event.

The event is scheduled for March 25th from 5:30pm. Parents and students of incoming freshmen will start in the gymnasium to listen to a presentation by our Principal Angela Freeman and our counselors. After the presentation they are invited to walk around the campus to visit the different tables. At the tables, we will have teachers and students representing a variety of classes that we offer, as well as the clubs and sports students can join while at Pitman.

Student Ambassadors walk around campus on this night holding signs that say “How can I help you?” so that our incoming freshmen and their families can stop them and ask them questions about our campus. Over 400 incoming freshmen from Dutcher Middle School, Turlock Junior High School, Spratling Middle School and eCademy Charter School were invited to join us with their parents on this night.

We are expecting over 40 clubs, sports and classes to have a table at the event. The Activities office will be open so that families can purchase Pitman gear. Students and their parents will have the opportunity to talk to their counselors on this night and visit the Career Center. Flip N Fry, Oak Barrel, Tito’s Tacos and Save Promise Club will be selling food on this night.

The event has been moved outdoors in the last few years, when weather permits. The event used to be all in the gym, and it got really loud inside. With it being outdoors, there is more room for families to walk around our campus and get to know the campus better. Parents have the opportunity to visit the Career Center and the Activities office.
