What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen at school?

Craziest thing I’ve ever seen at work was a student doing a back squat and getting crushed by the bar.

Do you prefer mile days or weight room days?

I prefer the weight room since it’s a little more controlled. I’m sure you guys enjoy it a lot more as well. Miles are still important but I’d rather go in the weight room.

Have you had any coworker beef?

Ehh, not coworker beef, I mean you get frustrated here and there, but it’s not detrimental.

Pizza or hotdogs, and why?

Hmmm, you know, I like pizza. You get a pretty good well-balanced meal, you’ve got your carbs, vegetables with the tomato sauce and protein with the pepperoni. I think pizza is the better choice.

What’s one pet peeve and what’s one thing you live for?

Oooh, a pet peeve. Just kids forgetting their stuff, it happens all the time in the locker room between boys forgetting their clothes or forgetting their locker or how to use their lock, that’s a pet peeve because it happens everyday. One thing I live for is my wife, I love to go home and see her everyday. I love hanging out with my best-friend.

Why are you a P.E teacher?

Well I was going to end up being a math teacher, but one day I ended up taking a child development class and one of my instructors pushed me towards P.E., I said okay, and gave it a shot. It ended up being a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I ended up taking a lot more Sport Ed classes, focusing more on how you teach and break down things. I didn’t really enjoy it until I went to my first in-class instructional thing. I went to an elementary school and I had to teach 5th graders how to shoot a basket. It was fun to see their reactions, it was really cool and I fell in love with it. I’ve always been in sports, I’ve always loved coaching; I started coaching before I started teaching. I still love it and think it’s really cool to see kids try new things and see their confidence grow.

Lastly, if there was a zombie apocalypse, what would you do?

Oooooh, what am I doing?… Out running everybody! Nah, well first things first, I’d find shelter, food and water.  But first and foremost if they just happened to pop out, I’d run faster than them. Finding shelter is the main thing.
