In 1998, on the 20th night of April, the fourth daughter of a family was born. Her mother decided to name her “Jocylin” but the nurse made a mistake and wrote “Josilene” instead. Even though it’s spelled in a unique way, Josilene recently found out that this unusual variation of her name originates from Brazil. In time, Josilene came to appreciate the interesting spelling of this presumed mistake. As a child, Josilene joined the immersion program when she was in 4th grade at Osborn Elementary. She continued in the immersion program until her first year at Dutcher Middle School. In the summer of 2011, she moved to the countryside of Turlock and went to Mountain View Middle School for her second year of middle school. In her 8th grade year, Josilene became interested in 4-H program and decided to do a meat goat project; now she is going to be treasurer in her second year of 4-H. Another interest of Josilene is the Korean culture. When she has time she learns the language by watching Korean dramas. Because of her interest in the Korean culture, Josilene wants to attend college inSouth Korea. The college she wants to attend is Korea National Open University. During high school, Josilene is hoping to achieve a lot in academics and athletics. She dreams about becoming an engineer and aspires that the rest of her dreams come true.
