“It’s a form of celebrity that didn’t exist 10 years ago.”

YouTube has gone from a website that posts viral funny videos, to a new platform of fame within the years it has been accessible. With technology and social media playing such a huge role in young teens’ lives, it is very easy to gain popularity just by putting yourself out there.

YouTube is now one of the most powerful marketing platforms in the world. There is almost nothing stopping someone from uploading a video to the internet, which is why there are so many people joining on the daily.

YouTube has a vast variety of content within its community. These videos can consist of; comedy, how-to’s, beauty, gaming, video blogs, animation, music, etc.

However, most of the millions of videos posted on YouTube everyday receive very little interest or views. But, there is an exception for the 30% of videos that do receive a great amount of attention. These people are not only having fun, but making money while they do it.

Now with monetization, YouTubers are getting paid to authorize the presence of advertisements on their videos. Even YouTubers with some of the largest followings, such as PewDiePie, Smosh, The Fine Bros., KSI, Shane Dawson, Ryan Higa, Bethany Mota, and Jenna Marbles, are lucky to earn enough money to be able to make videos for a living.

Many parents and other celebrities do not take people in the YouTube industry seriously, but what they do not know is that some are getting paid as much as five million dollars annually just to produce videos that make people happy.

These YouTube stars are taking over the social media board. Because these stars have such a powerful influence on social media, many production companies are eager to set up deals with them to have them star in their movies. This comes as a great advantage for the YouTubers because it gives them a chance to get their name out there and be taken seriously.

Other YouTubers take advantage of their spotlight and use their fame go on to produce music, tour the world and meet fans, or continue to make people happy.

It would be surprising for most people to walk down the street to find hundreds of girls waiting in line only to find out that it is all for some YouTuber. But somehow, these YouTubers continue to impress the public and attract crowds of hundreds of screaming fans who are willing to wait hours and pay high amounts of money just to see their favorite stars.

Although many do not take them as serious creators, it should be acknowledged that this new, convenient form of entertainment is very useful and truly brings happiness to their supporters.
