Easter and spring are nearly less than a month away, which means it’s time to put those winter decorations away and let your home blossom with some new decor.

As the days seem to get warmer and cherry trees are blooming, it’s time to bring back a vibrant feeling into your home. What better way to do so than with “do it yourself” easy home decor.

  • Chalk Paint Mason Jars

Recently, there has been a trend of finding creative ways of using mason jars, chic drinking cups to beautiful home arrangements. There is an infinite amount of ways to decorate but here is an idea.

The tools required are the desired color of chalk paint (remember to use spring colors such as yellow, pink, light blue, etc.).  Also, grab a paint brush, a sanding block, twine, and of course the quantity of mason jars desired.

First, make sure the jar is nice and clean before continuing. When done , begin opening chalk paint and stirring it with the paint brush. Begin to apply paint to the outside of the mason jar, starting from the rim and working your way down.

Then allow paint to dry and if necessary, apply a second coat of chalk paint and permit it to dry. Be aware that they are completely dry before proceeding. With the sand block, you are going to be distressing the jars. Start to sand different spots on the jar.

Don’t be afraid to get in there! It takes a while to get the effect wanted. It helps to work in a swirly motion. Finally, using the twine to make a cute little bow around the rim, wrap around the rim about three times before tying it up into a bow. Once done, add flowers to your mason jar and you’re decoration is all set.

Wreaths are traditionally hanged outside a house’s door normally during winter or fall but it also can apply for during this time around.

2) Spring Tulip Wreath

For more of a spring look than Easter, this is perfect. This only involves the use of a plain wreath, fake tulips and hot glue.

First of all gather all of your necessities in one area, to make this process easier.  As you have everything organized, begin gluing and tucking the flowers between the wreath until fully covered. That’s it!

  • Rainbow Bunny Easter Wreath

Want more of an Easter type of wreath? What yells Easter more than a Peep wreath?

To do this Peep wreath, the materials needed are Peeps bunnies (5 color sample pack), 10” Styrofoam wreath, toothpicks, pink ribbon and floral pin.

Step One. This can really help make your life easier, take wrappers of the peeps off to allow them to dry out. In that case so they won’t be as sticky to handle when using them.

Step Two. Begin to insert toothpick around the styrofoam. Then, grab the marshmallow bunnies and put them on top of the toothpicks located on the styrofoam. The toothpicks help the peeps stay in place, so they won’t be hanging around everywhere.

Step Three. As the wreath is covered with the Peeps bunny, one final step is left. Tie a large bow out of the ribbon and insert the floral pin to secure it.

You’re done. Pretty sweet, huh?

  • Egg Tree
