A recent photo shoot with Kendall Jenner has brought what seems like, more negative feedback than positive. Most of the people who are offended by the photo shoot are dancers all over the world since it seemed to mock the art of ballet.

Although Jenner looked stunning, her poor technique caught a wave of insults. Everything has to be perfect in ballet. The placement of your arms. The pointing of your feet. The balance in your turns. And it is clear that Jenner had no experience whatsoever.

To an audience that has no background information, it wouldn’t have been offensive. In the dance world, you get criticized by every sickled ankle and every bent arm. So it was no question that Jenner would have gotten hate for not having the right form.

Most people were offended because ballet is not something you can jump into. It takes years of practice, experience, and dedication; even then there’s room for improvement.

A tweet on Twitter said, “Ballet takes so much skill and it’s like a joke with Kendall Jenner on Vogue Spain. Fail all around.”

People were complaining about how hanging on the bar and wearing your hair down were big no-no’s that dancers have been taught since the very beginning.

Another reason why people were so upset was because there are so many professional ballerinas who could have fit the part better like Misty Copeland who is trained by the American Ballet Theatre.

Another tweet said, “I cringe when brands like @VogueSpain do this. There’s so many pro dancers or models with ballet training available.”

Being a “Jenner” just comes with publicity because of how much their family is talked about. You have Kylie with the crazy expensive lip kit, who also lied about why her lips got so big. There’s Caitlin Jenner who used to be Bruce Jenner. And Kris Jenner who has recently dated a man much younger than her. Crazy forecast involving cougars.

There were a lot of negative comments however there were also many who defended her. Even a first soloist at Ballet West, Allison DeBona, defended her. Although she has not commented on the issue, Jenner responded by prohibiting Instagram comments from being posted on her pictures. It is clear she wants nothing to do with the hateful comments.
There’s no question that there will be criticism in people’s lives. However, celebrities like Kendall Jenner are targeted more than the average Joe.
