Reviews are coming in faster than we can read since Rihanna released her highly anticipated makeup line, Fenty Beauty (Fenty being Rihanna’s last name of course). From Sephora to Instagram to YouTube, this new makeup brand is popping up all over our social media feed. In fact, the launch and the reviews of Fenty Beauty basically overshadowed much of New York Fashion week.

The truth about these new brands and just beauty in general can always be discovered on YouTube. Several top beauty influencers from YouTube such as, Laura Lee, Jeffree Star, Manny MUA, and Nikkietutorials gave their honest opinion on this new beauty line and most of the feedback was positive.

Jeffree Star is one of the top beauty influencers and YouTubers at the moment. Many beauty lovers wait to see if products are “Jeffree Star Approved” before buying them and at the end of his video, he declared that Fenty Beauty IS Jeffree Star approved.

“My final thoughts are that I am shook at how consistently great everything in this line is overall,” said Star when concluding his video.

Based on what these influencers and just the internet in general had to say, Fenty Beauty is definitely worth the hefty price tag. Nearly every item in Fenty Beauty’s range has an almost perfect rating on Sephora’s website and throughout the internet, so it is safe to say that Rihanna hit it out of the ball park with this one.

Much has been said about how the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation is revolutionary for it’s diverse shade range. Among the 40 different shades, Rihanna has catered to people with deep skin tones, pale skin tones, and everywhere in between.

“It actually means the world that she not only made diverse shades for all women of color but she brought us all together. When I was in Sephora all the women were doing their swatches and complimenting each other — all skin tones — and giving advice,” Krystal Robertson told POPSUGAR.

After promoting her line as “all inclusive” with her 40 different foundation shades and several different shades of highlighters, it was surprising when she announced that she was releasing a “Gloss Bomb” that had only one shade. This one shade, however, is meant to be universally flattering and glossy on ANY skin tone.

“For the gloss, I wanted a color that would work well on all skin tones,” Rihanna told Refinery 29. “It took awhile, and we had to switch things up to get the right texture, the right smell even. We came to this perfect, rosy-nude that had a little bit of shimmer. It gives you something, but it doesn’t look like you’re doing the most.”

Considering that this is only the beginning of Fenty Beauty, it is impressive how well they are doing and it will be interesting to see how the brand shapes the beauty world in the future.

Hopefully the Fenty Beauty line encourages more beauty brands to welcome all women of all skin tones into their lines.
